The Sensex surged 146.59 points or 0.25% to 59,107.19 while the Nifty was up by 25.30 points or 0.14% to close at 17,512.25 at the end of Wednesday’s trading session.
The Sensex moved in a high and low band of 59,399.69 and 58,961.77. On the index, 11 stocks advanced and 19 stocks declined.
The Nifty traded in a range of 17,607.60 and 17,472.85. On the index, 18 stocks advanced and 32 stocks declined.

The broader indices ended mixed with the BSE MidCap index up by 0.13% while the SmallCap index was down by 0.03%. The top gaining sectoral indices on the BSE, Energy was up by 0.45%, FMCG was up by 0.42%%, Realty was up by 0.38%, Financial Services was up by 0.32% and Oil & Gas was up by 0.22%. While Utilities by 1.61%, Power by 1.38%, Metal by 0.94%, IT by 0.86% and TECK by 0.75% were the top losing sectoral indices on the BSE.

The top gainers on the Sensex were Nestle up by 2.14%, HDFC 2.13%, Reliance Industries 1.88%, ITC 1.79%, Axis Bank 1.69%, HDFC Bank 1.02%, Ultratech Cement 0.89%, Power Grid Corp 0.68%, Kotak Mahindra 0.50% and Titan Company 0.19%. While the top losers on the index were NTPC down by 1.77%, State Bank of India 1.64%, Bajaj Finserv 1.56%, HCL Tech 1.41%, Infosys by 1.41%, and Dr. Reddy Labs 1.12%.

The top gainers on the Nifty were Nestle by 2.13%, ITC by 1.03%, HDFC by 1.94%, Reliance Industries by 1.83% and Axis Bank by 1.81%. While the top losers were JSW Steel by 1.80%, NTPC by 1.65%, Bharti Airtel by 1.55%, SBI by 1.55% and Coal India by 1.47%.
BLS International Services Limited, Fourth Dimension Solutions Limited, IDFC First Bank Limited, Indian Bank and The Federal Bank Limited hit their 52-week high on Wednesday.

Life Insurance Corporation Of India, GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Limited, Samvardhana Motherson International Limited, Akshar Spintex Limited, and Dc Infotech And Communication Limited touched a 52-week low on Thursday.
ITC Limited, HDFC Limited, Reliance Industries Limited, Axis Bank Limited and HDFC Bank Limited were the most active equities on NSE.

The top volume gainers were Accelya Solutions India Limited, Yaari Digital Integrated Services Limited, PNB Housing Finance Limited, Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care Limited, and V-Mart Retail Limited.
DC Infotech & Communication Limited, Mahalaxmi Rubtech Limited, Indo-National Limited, Omkar Speciality Chemicals Limited, and Paisalo Digital Limited hit their upper price band.

Visesh Infotecnics Limited, Akash Infraprojects Limited, Akshar Spintex Limited, Alok Industries Limited, and Arrow Greentech Limited, hit their lower price band. The upper price band was hit by 67 securities, 40 securities hit the lower band and 15 securities hit both the upper and lower bands on October 19,2022.
