Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Sunday, will launch a border viewing point at Nadabet in Gujarat’s Banaskantha district, similar to the Wagah-Atari Border in Punjab.

According to Alok Pandey, managing director of Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd, who spoke to Hindustan Times, “Under the Seema Darshan Project, Nadabet, located on the India-Pakistan border, is being developed as a tourist attraction destination at a cost of Rs. 125 crore by the state tourism department.”

Along with Shah, Gujarat chief minister Bhupendra Patel and state tourism minister Purnesh Modi will be in attendance.

The project was launched with the goal of providing individuals with the opportunity to witness directly the lifestyle of Border Security Force (BSF) troops who are continually protecting their motherland, as well as to watch their living conditions, tasks, and patriotism, according to Pandey.

The daily march of BSF soldiers will be one of the place’s main draws, he added.

Tourists will also be able to observe surface-to-surface and surface-to-air missiles, T-55 tanks, artillery cannons, torpedoes, wing drop tanks, and MiG-27 aircraft from the Indian Army and BSF at Nadabet.

The Nadabet Seema Darshan Initiative is envisioned as the country’s first cutting-edge BSF project, illustrating the beginnings, evolution, and involvement of the BSF in the conflicts, as well as the achievements of the heroes who have made supreme sacrifices for the country.

The Seema Darshan Complex’s centrepiece is a 30-foot-high T-Junction Pillar decorated with murals showing border guardians in action.

Another memorial, dubbed ‘Ajay Prahari,’ was created in honour of the valiant soldiers who gave their lives in the service of the nation. The Indian national flag has been raised to a height of 40 feet in this location.

An Interpretation Centre has been established to familiarise tourists with the life of a BSF jawan as well as the everyday vicissitudes of the inhabitants of border villages through the use of cutting-edge visual settings. Visitors are likely to be drawn in by high-tech interactive installations such as virtual patrolling, experience technology, and simulators.

Six rooms in the museum area are intended to provide insight into the topographical and demographic characteristics of Nadabet, as well as its proximity to Gujarat’s international border. At the same time, it will give insight on the problems posed by the most difficult border terrains, according to officials.
