Black Entertainment Television network established the BET Awards in 2001 to recognize African Americans in music, acting, sports, and other forms of entertainment. It will be hosted by Taraji P. Henson for the second year in a row and will air live on BET on Sunday, June 26, at 8 PM from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Babyface –  This is a 64-year-old American R & B singer, and songwriter best known for winning 12 Grammy awards.

Chance the Rapper – He is an American rapper and singer-songwriter who won best new artist in 2017 at the BET Awards.

Chlöe – With 5 Grammy nominations under their belt she is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She is half of the duo Chloe x Halle with her sister Halle Bailey.

Doechii – This is a 22-year-old American singer and rapper from Tampa, Florida.  Doechii is one of the new stars of hip hop.

Ella Mai – She is an English singer-songwriter. Ella’s career began at London’s British and Irish Modern Music Institute

Fireboy DML – This is a Nigerian singer signed by YBNL Nation, a record label founded by another Nigerian rapper Olamide.

GIVĒON – This performer won the best new artist in the 2021 BET Awards, and is an American singer-songwriter. His fame shot up after he collaborated with Drake on their 2020 single, “Chicago Freestyle”

Jack Harlow –  He is an American rapper, songwriter, and record producer from Louisville, Kentucky. Harlow is a nominee for best male hip-hop artist this year.

Joey Bada$$ – He is an American rapper, singer, and actor from Brooklyn, New York City, he is a founding member of the hip-hop collective Pro Era,

Kirk Franklin – He is an American gospel singer, dancer, songwriter, author and five-time winner of best gospel/inspirational artist in the BET Awards.

Latto – She is an American rapper from Atlanta. She is also known as big Latto. She appeared on the reality television series The Rap Game in 2016 and won the first season. 

Lil Wayne – He is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. He is known as one of the most influential hip-hop artists and is often cited by others as one of the greatest rappers of all time.

Lizzo – She is an American singer, rapper, and songwriter born in Detroit, Michigan she has who won best female R&B/pop artist two years ago at BET Awards

Muni Long – Pronounced “money long”, this is an American singer and songwriter.

Idris Elba – He is an English actor, producer, musician, and a two-time BET winner for best actor.

Roddy Ricch – He is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. He shot to fame in 2018 with his single, “Die Young”, which ranked at number 98 on the Billboard Hot 100 he won best new artist and album of the year two years ago in BET Awards. 

It begins with BET Awards 22 Red Carpet Live show which will start at 6 p.m. ET/PT. Terrence J will host the pre-show, which will feature performances by Capella Grey, Fast Life Yungstaz, Juvenile, Pheelz, Saucy Santana, and Victoria Monet. The pre-show will be covered by red carpet correspondent Pretty Vee, DJ Jae Murphy, and more. Affion Crockett will host the BET Awards red carpet Twitter live stream show.
