Priyanka Chopra completes 20 years in the entertainment industry this year. The actor and global icon was crowned Miss World in 2000, and since then her journey has been an uphill climb filled with passion and ambition.
To mark the occasion, Chopra shared a seven-minutes endearing video on her Instagram and wrote, “20 Years in Entertainment. Thank you @ozzyproduction and all of you for such a beautiful reminder of these 20 years since I started in this business. I hope to meet you all someday.. Meanwhile I want to celebrate with all of you… stay tuned! Thank you #pcmaniacs.”
The videos shows the entire journey of the former Miss World, right from when she won the crown to winning the People’s Choice Award for ‘Quantico’ and more. The video is filled with snippets from her success and how she broke the shackles to become the first of many – the first South Asian actor to win People’s Choice to being the first one to appear on the cover of Vogue magazine’s US edition.
The actor recently signed a ‘two-year multimillion-dollar first-look television deal’ with Amazon. As per reports of the Variety Magazine, Priyanka signed this deal to work with the digital giant for the next two years after talking to Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke.
“As both an actor and producer, I have always dreamt of an open canvas of creative talent coming together from all over the world to create great content irrespective of language and geography. This has always been the DNA of my production house Purple Pebble Pictures, and is the foundation of this exciting new endeavor with Amazon,” the actress stated in an Instagram post.
Priyanka has already been working with Amazon on a dance reality show called Sangeet alongside her husband, singer Nick Jonas, which is inspired by their own wedding sangeet ceremony. The other one, called Citadel, is a spy drama directed by Joe and Anthony Russo of Marvel fame.
She is also set to feature in two Netflix projects, ‘We can Be Heroes’ and ‘The White Tiger’ which co-stars Rajkummar Rao. She is currently working with Keanu Reeves in ‘Matrix 4’.
