Inter Milan
wingback Ashley Young on Sunday tested positive for the coronavirus, the Serie
A club confirmed.
“Ashley
Young tested positive for COVID-19 following the tests carried out yesterday
(Saturday) at Appiano Gentile,” AFP quoted a club statement as saying.

“The
English player is already in quarantine at home.”
35-year-old Young joined Inter from Manchester United in January.
The former
Watford and Aston Villa full back Young is the sixth Inter player to test positive
for the coronavirus after midfielders Rajda Nainggolan and Roberto Gagliardini,
defenders Milan Skriniar and Alessandro Bastoni and goalkeeper Ionut Radu.

Inter, who
missed out on a first Scudetto since 2010 by a point with Juventus sealing
their ninth successive title, will take on AC Milan in the derby della Madonnina,
or the Milan derby on October 17.
However, the
marquee fixture remains in doubt as Milan players Leo Duarte and Matteo Gabbia
are also in self-quarantine after testing positive.
Star Swedish
striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic returned to training on Sunday following two
negative tests after testing positive on September 24.
AC Milan have
won all three Serie A games so far and are second in the Serie A table, with Inter
on fourth, having won two and drawn one.
