A group of people briefly stopped Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut’s car at Kiratpur Sahib in Punjab’s Rupnagar district on Friday, demanding an apology from her over her recent remarks on the farmers’ protest against the Centre’s farm laws. The ‘Thalaivi’ actor was reportedly returning from Himachal Pradesh when this incident took place.
In a video message on her Instagram account, Kangana said,” As I entered Punjab, a mob attacked my car…They are calling themselves farmers and attacking me, using obscene language and threatening to kill me. Mob lynching is taking place openly in our country.”

Describing the situation as “unbelievable”, the actor went on to say that she wondered what would have happened to her if there was no security with her.
“There are some many police [personnel] but my car is not being allowed to leave. Am I a politician?”
“A lot of people are playing politics in my name and this situation is a result of it. If the police wouldn’t have been here then they would be lynching openly. Shame on these people!” she said.

They were demanding an apology from the actor for her comments against farmers protesting the Centre’s three farm laws. Her car was stopped for about half an hour and it was after police persuaded them, the protesters allowed the actor’s car to proceed.
