American rapper Lil Nas X picked an unconventional look for the MTV Music Video Awards red carpet event this year. He wore a black furry-feathered hoop skirt and matching headpiece.
Lil Nas X said on the MTV VMAs carpet, “This is heavy and it is Harris Reed,” “It’s something fresh, something new, I feel amazing.”
His red carpet look was conceptualized by American designer Harris Reed, who is known for his gender unbiased fashion. Reed has also designed outfits that were worn by stars like Harry Styles, Adele and Emma Corrin.

Lil Nas X’s red carpet look was from Reed’s fall 2022 collection and it was inspired by the gold outfit that he created for Iman at the 2021 Met Gala.
Lil Nas X’s customized dress included its original wide circular crown and matching skirt with a structured base, overlaid with sprays of wispy black feathers.
A gleaming silver bracelet was also worn by Lil Nas X to compliment his finished outfit.
Apart from Lil Nas X, many celebrities walked the red carpet with the best of their dresses. Taylor Swift wore a glittering Oscar de la Renta cutout dress, matching metallic silver Christian Louboutin heels, and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. Blackpink made a grand red carpet appearance with a theme of all-black looks.
