American model Kim Kardashian, on her Saturday Night Live hosting debut, roasted rapper husband Kanye West for his failed Presidential campaign and further roasted her family. West took a stab at politics during the 2020 US Presidential elections and managed to secure over 60,000 votes in the 12 states he had ballot access in.
In her opening monologue, Kim spoke about West and Caitlyn Jenner’s political campaigns, pretending she was announcing her own political run.
“I know we are divided as a country but I would love America to come together. I’m just kidding. I’m not running for president. We can’t have three failed politicians in one family,” she said.

“I married the best rapper of all time. Not to mention the richest Black person in America. We also have four amazing kids, which is why when I divorced him, it came to just one thing, his personality,” she added.
The reality star further went on to say how she was so used to having 360 million people following her every move before teasing SNL‘s viewership numbers. “How many people watch SNL? Like 10 million? So tonight is just a chill, intimate night for me.”

The ‘Keeping up with the Kardashians’ alum had started the monologue with a a joke about her father, who was part of OJ Simpson’s defence team.
“I think I’m following in my father’s footsteps. My father was and still is such an influence and inspiration to me and I credit him with really opening my eyes to racial injustice. It’s because of him I met my first Black person. Want to take a stab in the dark at who it was? I know it’s sort of weird to remember your first Black person you met, but OJ [Simpson] does leave a mark. Or none at all, I still don’t know.”
