Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine and Namibian model Behati Prinsloo’s house is situated between the Santa Monica Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. The couple, who tied the knot in 2014, started their new lives in their new LA property after selling their previous property that was completely furnished.
“Beverly Hills just started to feel hectic. It’s strangely central, so we felt surrounded by the city. We wanted to live somewhere quieter, where you don’t hear the traffic and feel the stress,” CNN quoted Levin as saying.
The couples’ house has a neutral colour palette inside. The dining and bar areas have been brightened by vibrant art pieces by American painter Henry Taylor and Richard Prince.
The areas also add texture to the room with the presence of a wooden desk designed by celebrated French architect Charlotte Perriand.
“When things are chaotic culturally, as they have been for the last half decade, it tends to foster great art,” Levine told the magazine Architecture and Design.
“Behati and I have an emotional attachment to everything we collect,” he added.
“We were attracted to this place because it felt homey. You could tell that kids had lived here before,” Behati said.
The rooms appear to be tall and spacious despite a lot of furniture and wall pieces. They also exude earth tone color scheme. The tables and countertops are largely left untouched and empty.
“We didn’t want a palatial McMansion. That’s just not who we are.” Levine is quoted as saying.
The LA property was originally built in the 1930s and has been previously owned by Gregory Peck, Ben Affleck among others.
The outside of the house was designed by landscape architect Mark Rios. He struck a balance between curated and casual. From flowers on the concrete edge to the outdoor seating area, everything has a balanced demeanour. The grove of mature olive trees spreading over the family swimming pool adds calm to the landscape.
