Ryan Grantham, who acted in the CW series Riverdale, has been  sentenced to life in prison for killing his mother Barbara Waite in 2020. The 24-year-old pleaded guilty in March to second-degree murder.

 British Columbia Supreme Court Justice Kathleen Ker on September 21 in Vancouver ruled that Grantham will be behind bars without the possibility of parole for 14 years.

The court also issued lifetime firearm ban for Grantham at the September 20 sentencing.

Grantham’s attorney, after the sentece, told E! News that he has received a lot of psychological assistance after being arrested. 

“He’s received a lot of psychological assistance and he has struggled with what he’s done and facing that but he hopes to be able to dedicate the rest of his life to making amends,” Johnson said in a statement.

Who is Ryan Grantham?

Ryan Grantham is a Canadian actor. He is 24 years old and has featured in Riverdale, Supernatural and IZombie. 

He was born in 1998 to Barbara Waite and his father in Squamish, British Columbia, Canada. Grantham acted as a child and made his debut at the age of 9 in 2007.

After elementary school, he joined Simon Fraser University for his higher studies.  In 2009, he was nominated for The 11th Annual Leo Awards for Best Performance.

Grantham also appeared in a fried chicken commercial during his school days and modeled for several brands.
