The ‘cowboy’ in country star Tim McGraw couldn’t keep him from falling off stage on Saturday.
The American singer’s performance of his hit “I Like It, I Love It” was captured in a now-viral TikTok video. During the performance, the singer walked to the end of the stage and kneeled down, pausing to express gratitude to his guitarist, who was performing a solo, by outstretching his arms toward the musician. The clip appears to show McGraw struggling with his balance as he stumbled before falling backward off the stage to the surprise of the audience.

McGraw, who was raised by a single mother, didn’t learn that his famous baseball pitcher father, Tug McGraw, was his father until he was 11 years old. He found work as a club performer after dropping out of college in 1989 to move to Nashville, and in 1990 he signed a record deal with Curb Records. Despite the failure of McGraw’s 1993 debut album, his 1994 follow-up, Not a Moment Too Soon, became the best-selling country album of the year (and the sixth best-selling album of the year in any genre).
With supporting roles in films like The Blind Side (starring Sandra Bullock), Friday Night Lights, The Kingdom, and Four Christmases (starring Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon), McGraw has also dabbled in acting. He also played the lead in the films Flicka (2006) and Country Strong (2010). He was a part-owner of the Nashville Kats of the Arena Football League. Tim McGraw is a reference to him and his song, Can’t Tell Me Nothin in Taylor Swift’s debut single, Tim McGraw.
