Milkshake singer Kelis has started dating actor Bill Murray, who is almost 30 years older than her.

Following the demise of Kelis’ husband, Mike Mora, from stomach cancer last year at the age of just 37, the two have been “getting close for a while” since meeting in the United States.

According to The U.S. Sun, the 72-year-old Ghostbusters actor was seen last weekend attending several of his alleged new girlfriend’s performances, including one “from the side of the stage in London.”

Who was Jennifer Butler?

Bill married Jennifer Butler, a costume designer known for her work on movies like Groundhog Day, Firestarter, and Last of the Mohicans, not long after he separated from his first wife Margaret. The couple’s marriage in 1997 marked the beginning of a significant relationship; they eventually had four boys together and were married for more than ten years until divorcing in 2008.

Unfortunately, Bill and Jennifer’s relationship proved difficult to unravel, and as a result, the parents of Caleb, 27, Jackson, 25, Cooper, 24, and Lincoln, 20, engaged in a public argument.

By the time it was all said and done, Jennifer accused Bill of domestic violence, sex, marijuana, and alcohol addictions, and infidelity. She filed for divorce from him and obtained a finalized judgment in June of 2008. Sadly, Jennifer died on January 19, 2021 and a cause of death was never released.

“Those that knew her will remember an extraordinarily kind and generous person, a woman of principle, an absolute spitfire and a fiercely loyal mother,” her obituary read.

Murray is currently in the UK, where he is filming a sequel to the 1984 film Ghostbusters. Murray played parapsychology professor Peter Venkman in the original version of the supernatural comedy. The latest instalment in the Ghostbusters franchise is currently scheduled for release in December 2023.
