In a meeting with the health ministers of states and Union Territories (UTs) on Thursday, Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan said coronavirus vaccines, Covishield and Covaxin, will be soon available in the country, ANI reported. India’s drug regulator, Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation, has granted approval to the two vaccines for their use in India.

The Union Health Minister convened the meeting a day before the dry run of vaccination will be conducted across 33 states and UTs.

The first dry run was on January 2.

Dr Harsh Vardhan said on Thursday that the feedback of the first dry run was reviewed and improvements were made. 

Speaking on the menace of misinformation, the Minister said, “We have to ensure that no misinformation campaign on vaccine is successful.”

He further noted that states of Kerala, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh have seen a sudden spike in coronavirus cases recently.

“This gives us a warning that we shouldn’t forget precautions and continue our fight against,” the Minister said.
