Pacer Prasidh Krishna, who was one of the Indian bowlers on the receiving end of the English onslaught, said that he needs to work hard and improve his performance with the new ball to be more economical.
In the second of three-matches ODI, India lost to England by six wickets. After the game, Prasidh said, “Personally, I would like to start better. I would like to improve on how I have been starting with the (new ball). Otherwise, all the runs that I gave away were scored off bad balls. So I would go back and work on those aspects.”

Prasidh said that the Indian team could have hardly done anything in the face of an onslaught from England’s Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes.
In Friday’s ODI, India set an imposing target of 337 runs but England took the target head-on with Stokes and Bairstow slaughtering the Indian bowlers as they overhauled the taret with six wickets and 6.3 overs to spare.
Talking about India’s performance, the 25-year-old Karnataka pacer said, “We could have bowled better, am not denying the fact but we need to give credit to the way they played as well. It was an onslaught, we got hit quite bad.”
He said that the game was of white-ball, adding, “With four outside for the 11 to 40 overs, that’s bound to happen.”
“It was a very good wicket to bat on, no doubt. The score says it all,” he said.
Prasidh said that the team could have executed better.
Talking about execution, he reiterated, “Other than that, it is a repetitive question, the third time I am being asked. Yes, we did make mistakes, we could have done better but they batted well too.”
