James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water, released on December 16, 2022, in India and already earned over Rs 38 crore on the first day. A piece of sad news came from Andhra Pradesh’s Kakinada district, where a man died of a heart attack while watching a recently released movie.
According to a report by India Today, the victim’s name is Lakshmireddy Srinu. Srinu along with Raju, his younger brother, had gone to watch the film at a movie theatre in Peddapuram.

While watching the movie, Srinu suddenly collapsed and Raju took him to the Peddapuram Government Hospital. The check-up results were disheartening as Srinu was declared brought dead by the doctors.
Earlier in 2010, a similar incident took place in Taiwan, where a 42-year-old man died of a heart attack while watching the first part of the movie Avatar, according to an AFP report. The person fell ill while watching the movie, then headed to the hospital. When he reached the emergency room, he was unconscious, the doctors had said. The man died 11 days later.

About Srinu’s death, doctors said, as per the medical records he had a history of high blood pressure and “over-excitement from watching the movie” triggered his symptoms. He was survived by a son and a daughter.
A heart attack usually occurs when the flow of blood to the heart is severely reduced or blocked. In medical terminology, a heart attack is called a myocardial infarction.

After more than a decade of one of the most successful science fiction films, Avatar director James Cameron has brought out its sequel Avatar: The Way of Water. The film stars Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang, and Michelle Rodriguez in lead roles.
Disney reported that the movie had collected 50.4 million dollars in international ticket sales in the first two days of its release.

By Sunday, the movie is likely to collect between $145 million and $179 million in US and Canadian theatres and hundreds of millions more globally, according to forecaster Boxoffice Pro.
