The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) formed a four-member committee to plan outreach programs for the Brahmin community in Uttar Pradesh (UP). This decision comes amid assessments that the Brahmin community is displeased with the ruling power in the state.
The former Union Minister Shiv Pratap Shukla chairs the committee, whose members include Mahesh Sharma, Abhijat Mishra, and Ram Bhai Morakiya. As per the chairperson, the Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP), are spreading rumours among the Brahmin community that BJP has not been representing their best interests. The committee aims to take the BJP’s work public and drive home the message of its effectiveness.
JP Nadda, the BJP national president, was part of the decision making body alongside Dharmendra Pradhana, the Union Minister in charge of the state, and the Brahmin community of UP.
