Reflecting the data that over 3 lakh students are expected to migrate to foreign countries in search of better employment opportunities, the CM stressed the need of creating an environment where foreigners come to Punjab in search of jobs.

However, his remarks invited razor-sharp reactions from the opposition. Punjab Congress MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira took a dig at Bhagwant Mann’s statement and noted that the Chief Minister should focus on ‘house issues’ first before worrying about bringing ‘white people’ to Punjab.
