Indian cricketer Piyush Chawla lost his father Pramod Kumar Chawla due to COVID-19 on Monday. The Mumbai Indians spinner took it to Instagram and wrote, “Life will not be the same anymore, lost my pillar of strength today.”
In his Instagram post, he said that his father was suffering from COVID and post COVID complications. He added, “We invite your kind thoughts and prayers in this difficult times. May his noble soul rest in peace.”

Condolences started pouring on the internet, cricketers like Suresh Raina and Irrfan Pathan took it to social media to express their grief on the cricketer’s father’s demise.
Chawla was bought by IPL’s most successful franchise Mumbai Indians for Rs 2.40 crore in the IPL 2021 auction held in February, but he wasn’t seen in the playing eleven for the first seven matches that were played. However, the tournament was postponed indefinitely after COVID cases started coming in from many teams.

Rajasthan Royals bowler Chetan Sakariya also lost his father due to the virus on Sunday.
