Actor Kangana Ranaut, in the middle of a showdown with Maharashtra’s ruling party Shiv Sena, unleashed a barrage of tweets throughout the day on Wednesday, capturing the action-filled day in 15 tweets. From her travel from Himachal Pradesh to Mumbai, to a blow-by-blow account of the demolition at her Pali Hill office and announcing a movie on Kashmiri Pandits, Kanagan kept her 1.5 million followers informed about all developments.
The actor’s showdown with Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut was triggered by her comment comparing Mumbai with Pakistan Occupied Kashmir last week. This sparked a Twitter war between her and Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Raut, the spat that quickly deteriorated into dares, challenges and name calling. She was also attacked for her remark, that she feared Mumbai Police more than the “movie mafia,” and would prefer security either from Himachal Pradesh or the Centre.
Her first tweet of the day was, “I have lived the courage, valor and sacrifice of Rani Laxmibai through my film. The sad thing is that I am being prevented from coming to my own Maharashtra. I will continue to raise my voice against wrong, Jai Maharashtra, Jai Shivaji,” she said.
During the day, she also shared pictures and videos of her office getting demolished by BMC officials.
