While saying sorry to the Election Commission, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday asked Union Home Minister Amit Shah to “control” his goons, ‘who are heckling woman journalists in rallies.’ The TMC leader further said that she has not seen ‘such bad elections.’
This comes after the West Bengal CM alleged ruckus in polls in Nandigram on Thursday, asking Governor Jagdeep Dhankar to look into the issue. Mamata is contesting from the Nandigram constituency, which went to polls on Thursday. The TMC Supremo is up against former party leader, Suvendu Adhikari, who is now contesting from the seat as a BJP candidate.

“I am showing you ‘V’ for victory sign,” Mamata said, and added, “I am sorry Election Commission & Amit Shah, please control your goons who are heckling woman journalists in rallies,” quoted news agency ANI.
Sporadic violence and minor clashes were reported from various constituencies, including the high-profile Nandigram.
The TMC leader slammed the EC for not taking any action despite complaints, including allegations of ‘booth capturing’ and massive fake voting at the Boyal polling booth, and warned that she will move to court.

“We have lodged 63 complaints since morning. But not a single action has been taken. We will move court over it. This is unacceptable. The EC is working as per Amit Shah’s instructions,” she said while sitting outside booth number 7 in Boyal in Nandigram, where her partymen alleged many voters were unable to cast their ballot.
Talking about her conversation with Dhankar, she said, “I can’t reveal what I discussed with Observer and Governor, it’s confidential.”
Mamata added, “I haven’t seen such a bad election.”
“We will check all footage of the polling booth and take appropriate steps,” she said when the CM was asked if any FIR will be done on the allegations of booth rigging at the Boyal booth, which she visited.
