Hours after the BJP inducted Kapil Gurjar, who had fired shots at Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh during anti-CAA protests, the ruling party removed him on Wednesday, reports ANI. Gurjar was part of BSP workers, who joined the Bharatiya Janata Party earlier the day.
BJP Ghaziabad President Sanjeev Sharma said, “Kapil Gurjar was part of a group of BSP workers who joined BJP today. We had no knowledge about his association with Shaheen Bagh issue,” reports ANI.
Gurjar in February had fired shots in the air at Shaheen Bagh, where a protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) was ongoing and had shouted, “Jai Shree Ram.”
After firing shots, while being taken into police custody, Gurjar, in Hindi, had said, “Only Hindus will rule in our country, no one else.”
