With Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman ready to present her fourth
Union Budget today, internet users have taken to social media platforms to express
their anticipation for what might unfold. From taxpayer memes to trading puns,
social media is flooded with all things budget.

One user took to Twitter to post about the middle-class
section of the society during a budget announcement. A screengrab from the 2006
comedy flick ‘Phir Hera Pheri’ displays a budget meme. Uploaded two days ago,
the post has amassed more than 1,000 likes and several retweets.

Reacting to the meme, one user wrote, “All they do is to say a small
thank you for direct taxpayers and that’s it.”

Another user added, “ab toh
umeed krna ho chhor dia hai hum salaried logo ne (salaried people have stopped hoping
and expecting anything now.)”

On the other hand, one user
shared a meme about all the upcoming budget-related memes. “Some big announcement may or may not come out of the budget
but one thing is for sure, a lot of memes are going to come”, the tweet
read.

Another user expressed
their exhilaration and compared it to the excitement of Diwali. The tweet reads,
“I am waiting for the Budget 2022, more than I wait for Diwali or my birthday..”

The tweet,
posted three days ago has garnered more than 1,300 likes and several comments.

Stocktwits
India, an investor and trader service, also took to Twitter to hop on the meme
bandwagon and posted a screengrab from the 2006 film, ‘Golmaal Fun Unlimited’.

Many others
have poked fun at taxpayers with several memes. One user wrote, “meanwhile
salaried taxpayers waiting for new tax regime!” along with a still from
the blockbuster hit, ‘Bahubali 3.’

The Union Budget
for 2022-23 is scheduled to be presented today by Union Finance Minister,
Nirmala Sitharaman. Many taxpayers are expecting a relief this fiscal year.
