Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared some memorable moments from Neeraj Chopra‘s training of future champions at a school in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on Sunday. PM Modi praised the javelin thrower for spending time with students and inspiring them to participate in sports and fitness in a series of tweets.
“This is a great initiative by @Neeraj_chopra1, to go among young students and motivate them on sports and fitness. Such efforts will increase curiosity towards sports and exercising,” the prime minister tweeted.
The previous day, Olympian Neeraj Chopra visited Sanskardham School and interacted with students while playing various sports with them, including javelin throw, volleyball, and archery. He also emphasized the significance of exercise and diet in fitness with the students. The ‘golden boy’ of India can be seen training and motivating a child to throw a javelin in one of the videos tweeted by the school.

“Great moments!” PM Modi wrote on Twitter mentioning the video.
The prime minister also retweeted a DD News thread in which Neeraj Chopra is seen engaging in various activities while enthralling students from 75 schools in Ahmedabad’s Sanskardham. Chopra led an exercise session with the students and gave them helpful advice.
When asked about his favourite dish, the Olympian received a round of applause from the audience and when on to say that he enjoys a variety of fruits and described how he enjoys making vegetable biryani without making it spicy and serving it with curd. However, the athlete emphasised the importance of controlling his inner foodie because it will affect his javelin throw.
The management of Sanskardham Educational Society had previously honoured Neeraj. He praised the society’s efforts and and commitment to empowering students to prepare for the future.
In the next two months, Tarundeep Rai (Archery), Sarthak Bhambhri (Athletics), Sushila Devi (Judo), KC Ganapaty, and Varun Thakkar (Sailing) will visit schools across the country. Avani Lekhara (Para Shooting), Bhavina Patel (Para Table Tennis), and Devendra Jhajharia (Para Athletics) are among the paralympians who will spearhead the initiative.
