Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday announced that he will release a video series on how the Modi government has destroyed the Indian economy. Gandhi posted a short video on Twitter, announcing his video series, and said that the ruling “BJP government has attacked the unorganised sector of economy.”

Talking about the economy, the 50-year-old Congress leader said, “I will give you three big examples right now – demonetisation, flawed GST, and the lockdown.” Gandhi will release his first video at 10 am on Monday on his all social media channels.

In the past few weeks, Rahul Gandhi has attacked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party several times over issues, including China dispute, JEE NEET exams, coronavirus pandemic, and Facebook report. He has been critical of the government’s handling of the economy.

The Centre on Thursday said that the pandemic has hurt goods and services (GST) and there has been a shortfall of Rs 2.35 lakh crore for the fiscal year 2020-21.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman called the pandemic “an act of God”, an unforeseen factor that affected GST collections. The Congress leader reacted to Sitharaman’s comment by saying the Indian economy has been destroyed by demonetisation, flawed GST and failed lockdown.
