The festival of Raksha Bandhan in India is usually celebrated on the last day of the Hindu lunar calendar in the month of Shravana. This year, the festival will be celebrated on August 3.

On this day, sisters tie Rakhis on the wrist of their brothers in return for their brothers’ responsibility to protect and take care of them. In return of the Rakhis, brothers usually give gifts to their sisters.

However, amidst the coronavirus pandemic and the gradual spike in the number of cases in the country, most brothers and sisters who are not living in the same house will be opting out of a physical celebration. Although the video conferencing platforms will be the saviour this year, a special wish or a message from your beloved brother or sister is a great way to brighten your day.

Here are some Raksha Bandhan wishes, images and quotes to send your loved ones:

  • Sending my best wishes and lots of love to you, dear brother. Happy Raksha Bandhan! Thanks for being an awesome brother, guide, and friend.
  • I love you sister till death and will always be one call away in all your needs. Happy Raksha Bandhan!
  • “For there is no friend like a sister in calm or stormy weather; To cheer one on the tedious way, to fetch one if one goes astray, to lift one if one totters down, to strengthen whilst one stands.”
  • “I sought my soul, but my soul I could not see. I sought my God, but my God eluded me. I sought my brother and I found all three.”
  • On this special day, I want to tell you that I will always be there for you. I feel blessed to have you in my life; you are such a wonderful person. I am giving you a promise that I will always love and protect you. Happy Rakhi, Bhai!
