India defeated England in the ODI series decider by 5 wickets at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground. Win this win, the Indian cricket team bagged both the series in the white ball leg of the tour.

Here’s a look at all the records made after India’s win at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground:

1. This is the first time since WC 2015 England have failed to score 300+ in a home ODI series when they have batted first at least once.

2. This is the seventh successive ODI in which India have bowled out the opposition. In the 22 completed ODIs after WC 2019 prior to the start of this sequence, they did so just five times.

3. This is the third ODI series defeat for England at home since 2015. Co-incidentally all three had a series decider at Old Trafford.

4. After getting dismissed for 17, it was the first instance of Kohli going through five consecutive innings in ODIs without getting to 20

5. Rishabh Pant scored his maiden ODI century in the 3rd ODI. Co-incidentally Pant was the only centurion this ODI series.

6. Hardik Pandya is only the second player to achieve the double(50+ runs and 4+ wickets) against a single team across the three formats after Mohammad Hafeez. These are Pandya’s doubles against England:

Tests: 52* & 5/28 v Eng Nottingham 2018

ODIs: 50* & 4/24 v Eng Manchester 2022

T20Is: 51 & 4/33 v Eng Southampton 2022

7. Neither of the teams played full 50 overs in a single innings in this series.

8. Pandya is the seventh allrounder to achieve a double for India in ODIs since 1988.

9. Pant is the third designated Indian wicketkeeper who scored an ODI 100 outside Asia.

Earlier, the hosts set a target of 260. Rishabh Pant was the saviour in chief, after Reece Topley reduced the visitors for 38/3, removing Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli in quick succession. His 100+ run partnership with Hardik Pandya stabilized Indian innings. After Pandya got out, Pant pressed the accelerator, hitting Willey for five consecutive fours and taking India to victory.
