Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty, in a letter to CBI on Monday, asked to initiate action against her neighbour, Dimple Thawani, for misleading investigators in late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s case. In a letter, the actress termed her neighbour’s statements false and bogus.

In a letter to Nupur Prasad, the Superintendent of SIT and CBI in Mumbai, the actress said that she “was interrogated for more than five days by the CBI in connection with the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. During the investigation, several media channels carried false and bogus stories without any material to substantiate these patently false and fabricated claims in order to achieve their own ends.”

Adding further, Rhea said, “I say that one such person Mrs Dimple Thawani made patently false and bogus allegations against me knowing them to be false, to mislead the investigation in the above case. The allegation was that the late Sushant Singh Rajput had dropped me to my residence in his car on 13th june 2020, which is utterly false.”

In an interview with TV channel, Thawani had reportedly said that Rhea had met late Bollywood actor a day before his death and he had also dropped the actress home.

In a letter sent by lawyer Satish Maneshinde on behalf of Rhea, the actress stated that the said conduct makes out a prima facie case punishable under Sections 203 and 211 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, one of which is punishable with imprisonment for a minimum of 7 years.

After spending 28 days in prison, actor Rhea Chakraborty, arrested in a drugs case related to her boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, was released on bail on October 7.
