After the Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians were defeated by the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the first match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 on Friday, his wife, Ritika Sajdeh, dedicated a post to him on Instagram and made it clear that she is always rooting for her husband.

“So proud of this guy,” Ritika captioned the picture with a bunch of fun emojis. In the snap, Rohit can be seen hugging Ritika from behind. 

The post, which has gained 452,000 likes in less than 24 hours, was well-received by the couple’s fans. 

“The whole country is proud of him,” a fan commented on the post. “We should be, he is the best,” another said.

Royal Challengers Bangalore bowler Yuzvendra Chahal also dropped a heart and an evil emoji in the comment section. Notably, Chahal’s side won the match by two wickets.

Ritika often shares fun and cute pictures with her husband on social media platforms. The couple has been married since 2015.

Mumbai Indians will be facing Kolkata Knight Riders in their next match that is scheduled for Tuesday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Rohit has been captaining the team for seven consecutive years and this is his 8th year being the captain.
