A delivery professional of the online food delivery platform Swiggy allegedly killed a restaurant owner on Tuesday in Greater Noida over a delay in getting one of his orders ready. The police have registered a case and are analysing CCTV footage from the area to track down the accused, reported NDTV.
According to NDTV, the restaurant owner, who was shot dead was owned a restaurant inside a residential complex called Mitra. The accused, a Swiggy agent reached the restaurant late Tuesday to collect an order of chicken biryani and poori sabzi.

While the biryani was ready on time, a restaurant worker told the accused that the poor sabzi order would take a little more time following which an argument broke out between the two and the delivery agent allegedly abused the restaurant employee. (verbally)
The owner of the restaurant, Sunil Agarwal, then tried to intervene and resolve the argument. The delivery agent allegedly shot him in the head with the help of his friend.

According to India Today, the accused was under the influence of alcohol and was accompanied by another man who aided him in the killing.
The restaurant workers and other staff members rushed him to the hospital where he was declared dead.
“The delivery boy killed the restaurant owner because there was a delay in getting the order ready,” police officer Vishal Pandey said, adding that three teams have been formed to catch the culprit.
A man by the name of Rakesh Nagar, who lives near the said restaurant told NDTV that he was informed by the restaurant staff that their owner was shot and this is when he rushed to the crime scene.
When I reached, he was still breathing. I first dialled 100 and then for an ambulance. But later, we took him to hospital in our vehicle,” Nagar told NDTV.
