The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 is
going on in full swing. The tournament started on October 18 with a match between
co-host Oman and
debutants Papua New
Guinea. A total of 16 countries are participating in the tournament, which is
being played in two rounds.

The first
round saw eight teams in two groups take on each other to contest for a place in the Super 12 round. Top two teams from Group A and B of the first round entered Groups 1 and 2 of the Super 12.
Sri Lanka
and Namibia managed to qualify from Group A and were joined by Scotland
and Bangladesh from Group B.
Group A of Super 12 has Australia, England, South Africa and West Indies,
Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, while Group B has
Afghanistan, India, New Zealand and Pakistan, Scotland and Namibia.

Namibia, playing their first T20 world Cup, secured qualification to the Super 12 after beating Ireland in an all-or-nothing match. Scotland secured their place in the super 12 with three consecutive wins in Round 1.
Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga is the leading wicket-taker in tournament so far, with 16 from eight matches.
