Satyagraha is a concept introduced by Mahatma Gandhi to designate a determined but nonviolent resistance to evil. It became a major tool in India’s fight against the British rule and has been later adopted by several protest groups across the world.
Gandhi practiced two types of Satyagraha in his mass campaigns, one being the civil disobedience and the other was non-co-operation. His followers had faced beating, imprisonment, confiscation of their property-and it was hoped that this willing suffering would cause a “change of heart.”
