American singer-songwriter Mary Millben greeted the Indian communities across the globe on the occasion of Indian New Year’s Day on April 13 by reciting Sanskrit shlokas.” Happy New Year to my beloved #India, the Indian-American community, and Indian communities across the world. Today, I hope you are blessed with the new spirit of the new year. May this new year bring much joy and happiness,” she shared a video on her social media handles.

However, this is not the first time, she expressed her love and solidarity towards Indian communities In 2020, India and Indian communities worldwide were introduced to Mary following her virtual performance of India’s National Anthem for India’s 74th Independence Day. Her performance received global acclaim and has now been viewed by millions.

She once again made her bond strong with Indians across the globe when she gave a virtual performance of ‘Om Jai Jagdish Hare’ for the Diwali 2020 global observance that has so far got 1M views.

She was also one of the few Hollywood celebrities who supported Indian Farm Law. In an interview with Republic TV, she said that when she first started seeing the protests and all of the conversations that were going on related to the farmers, her heart went out for them, their families, and certainly the leadership.

“In America, we want leaders who institute policy giving us Americans direct channel, to opportunity the American dream and I really believe at the heart of this issue, PM Modi and the formation of the farm bills hit home to that. It’s giving farmers a direct channel to the Indian dream…,” she said.
