The Zahoorabad assembly constituency in Uttar Pradesh (UP) saw Gyan Prakash Munna of the Indian National Congress (INC) take on Kalicharan Rajbhar of the BJP, Saiyyada Shadab Fatima of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Om Prakash Rajbhar of the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP), and Shivpujan of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
Om Prakash Rajbhar of the SBSP had won the seat in 2017 Assembly elections, defeating runner-up Kalicharan of the BSP by a margin of 18,081 votes.
In the 2012 Assembly election, SP’s Syeda Shadab Fatima had won the seat by defeating the BSP’s Kalicharan by a margin of 10,478 votes.

The Zahoorabad assembly constituency falls under the Ghazipur district in UP and is one of the five assembly constituencies under the Ballia Lok Sabha constituency.
The Zahoorabad assembly constituency voted in the seventh phase of the UP Assembly elections in 2022 on March 7, when 54 assembly seats, spread across 9 districts, went to the polls. UP is voting in seven phases, and the last phase was held on March 7.
Results will be declared on March 10, along with results of elections being held in other states and Union Territories (UTs).
