A TikTok video is creating quite a buzz on social media. Niya Esperanza, an avid TikTok user, posted a video on the app and listed five reasons why she is “thankful” to have a visually-impaired boyfriend. Niya noted that the video was posted with her boyfriend’s permission who regularly appears in her clips alongside her.
Niya’s boyfriend, Jake Olson, is a sportsperson, motivational speaker, and entrepreneur. A video she posted starts with “Here are the top five reasons why I’m so thankful that my boyfriend is blind”.

“Number one, he never looks at other girls. So if this is something you want in your relationship, just look for someone who can’t see.
“Number two, it doesn’t matter what I look like, and specifically I don’t have to do my hair”. Referring to her messy hairstyle bun she said it looks like this on most days.
Jake’s blindness gives Niya less trouble when it comes to surprises or celebrations as she doesn’t have to hide the gifts. She says she is “thankful” that her boyfriend can’t see because she doesn’t have to hide any presents she bought for him – which is a common issue many couples have.

The fourth reason she explains unless I tell him, he doesn’t know that I’m filming him, which is excellent for TikTok content for creation purposes.
And the last reason is he can’t drive, so it eliminates the backseat driving. I mean… I wish that was true but that’s just the thought accounts.
Hundreds of viewers saw the humor in Niya’s clip and praised her light-hearted intention.
