The French Open, also known as the Roland Garros, is the second Grand Slam of the year, held over two weeks at the Stade Roland-Garros in Paris, France. The 2021 edition will take place from May 24 to June 13. It will be the 125th edition of the French Open and the second Grand Slam event of 2021. Out of the 128 players, the main singles draw will include 16 qualifiers for men and 16 qualifiers for women in each draw.

Will the spectators be allowed in the stadium?
The tournament will allow a limited number of spectators in the stadium. The spectator capacity will be according to the restrictions in France, which are lowering in various stages.

In terms of spectator capacity, here are the three phases to keep in mind:
The qualifying rounds will be played without spectators from May 24 to May 28. The stadium will allow 5,388 spectators per day from May 30 to June 8.
The Philippe Chatrier court will allow 5,000 spectators with a health pass to the stadium from June 9. The number of spectators allowed inside the stadium will gradually increase to 13,146 spectators in total on June 9 and 10.
Will there be night sessions?
The night match will be conducted from May 31 to June 9 on the Philippe Chatrier court. The night match will begin at 9 pm local time.
The Philippe Chatrier court was equipped with a roof in 2020 and will host the night sessions for the first time in 2021. During the day, three matches will be played on the Centre Court, and the fourth match will begin at 9 pm local time.
What are the health and safety protocols?
Various health and safety measures are taken for the tournament. The player areas, spectator seating, mask, social distancing, and sanitizer dispensers are being taken care of by the health authorities. Outdoor seating areas are being set up inside the stadium grounds.
When and where to watch the French Open live in India?
The French Open will be broadcasted in India by the Star Sports Network at 2:30 pm IST.

What about prize money?
The Roland Garros tournament director Guy Forget said that the Roland Garros will continue to support the players, who are going through a difficult time financially, with the prize money. The prize money will be a total prize fund of €34,367,215.
