Carlo
Ancelotti, the coach of Real Madrid, has stated that he will ‘probably’ retire
when he leaves the La Liga champions, but that he is willing to continue at the
Santiago Bernabeu for a number of years.
With Real
Madrid, the 62-year-old Italian became the first coach in history to win all
five of Europe’s top titles this season. Real also faces Manchester City in the
second leg of their Champions League semi-final on Wednesday.

Ancelotti
told Prime Video in an interview on Tuesday, “After Real, yes, I probably
stop.”
“But if
Real keep me here for 10 years, I’ll coach here for 10 years,” he added.
The Italian
is under contract with the Spanish giants until 2024, having returned to the
club for a second stint as manager last year after leaving Everton. Ancelotti
stated that he would like to spend more time with his family and travel, but he
did not rule out potentially leading a national team in the 2026 World Cup in
the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

“I
would like to spend time with my grandchildren, go on holiday with my wife. There
are so many things that I have neglected and that I would like to do.”
“Yes,
there could be a national team but that’s premature for the moment.”
Ancelotti
was Italy’s assistant coach throughout their march to the 1994 World Cup final
in the United States, when they were defeated on penalties by Brazil. He is
attempting to win his fourth Champions League trophy this season, following
victories with AC Milan in 2003 and 2007, as well as success during his initial
tenure in Madrid in 2014.
The manager was recently in the news after a photo of him smoking a cigar among Real Madrid players celebrating their LaLiga title victory surfaced on social media. Real Madrid
will have to overcome a 4-3 first-leg deficit against Manchester City in order
to get to the final against either Liverpool or Villarreal in Paris.
