Hardcore Chelsea fan Abhishek Bachchan was delighted after receiving a letter from the club’s Spanish defender Cesar Azpilicueta wishing him a quick recovery. The actor and father Amitabh Bachchan are currently recovering from COVID-19 at the Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai.
In the letter, Azpilicueta says, “I know the players an I were very moved when we heard about what you have been going through and we just wanted to let you know that we are thinking of you and your family in what I can imagine are difficult times.”
An ardent Blues fan, Abhishek can often be seen posting photos related to the club while also taking time out to watch his favourite football club’s match at Stamford Bridge. He said, “This made my week. Thank you so much @chelseafc. The only thing that would top this is winning the FA Cup this evening. Come on Chelsea!!! #ktbffh @cesarazpi.”
Chelsea is set to take on city rivals Arsenal for the FA Cup final today while a recovery from a first leg defeat against Bayern Munich in the Champions League round of 16 is highly unlikely. However, it finished fourth in the recently concluded Premier League, booking a place in the next season of European championship.
