Australian Open 2022 has seen history being made with Rafael Nadal beating odds to win against World No 2 Daniil Medvedev. The Russian pro started off strong, but the Spanish No 5 bounced back from a two-set loss to claim the Grand Slam title. With that, Nadal goes past the tie he had with the Big Three, World No 1 Novak Djokovic and his long-time rival Roger Federer. While both of them have 20 Grand Slams to their name, Nadal now has 21. After winning, Nadal said “For me, it’s just amazing. Being honest, one month and a half ago, I didn’t know if I’d be able to play on the tour again. Without a doubt, (it’s) probably been one of the most emotional months in my tennis career”, as per AP.
