Andrew Wiggins has emerged as one of the most promising players in the ongoing NBA Finals, leaving behind stars like Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry. When the ‘Splash Brothers’ failed, Wiggins stepped up his game and helped the Golden State Warriors take a critical lead against Boston Celtics.

But Wiggins has often been weighed down by his critics, who say that the 27-year-old is not serious about reaching the big leagues (in this case is the NBA All-Stars team).

The Golden State Warriors are just one victory away from their seventh NBA champion title and credit where due, Wiggins has been a big part of this season. 

The Warriors have won two straight games to take a 3-2 lead into Game 6 on Thursday, and Wiggins is as big a reason as any. The forward from Canada had 17 points and a career-high 16 rebounds in Game 4, then followed that with 26 points and 13 boards.

Wiggins rescued the Golden State Warriors in Game 5 after the team faced a slump in the second half. Stephen Curry went cold and registered his worst performance of the ongoing final series against the Boston Celtics.

Wiggins had recorded consecutive double-doubles just once in his career before doing it in the two biggest games he has ever played, according to Associated Press reports.

“He is shining on the brightest of stages in the playoffs. You can tell how much he is enjoying it,” fellow All-Star Stephen Curry said Wednesday.

“It is just amazing to see things working out in his favor in terms of the kind of dispelling all the narratives around him and who he is as a basketball player right in front of your eyes”, Stephen Curry added.

Wiggins took the high road after winning Game 5 of the NBA finals. “It is always great being able to showcase what you can do, what you worked for”, he said. “I am just happy to be able to be here on the biggest stage and help my team win.”
