The Golden State Warriors headed into Game 4 needing a win to level the NBA finals. After being blown away by Boston Celtics in the final quarter of Game 3, the Dubs needed a rousing performance to reel back the Boston charge. In front of a packed TD Gardens, the Warriors’ point guard and talisman Stephen Curry put to waste the home side’s best-laid plans, dropping 43 points in their 97-107 win.

With the game delicately poised going into the final quarter, Curry added a bit of magic dust to proceedings, notching 10 of his 43 points in the final 12 minutes. Unable to contain the 6 feet 2-inch genius, the Celtics folded like a pack of cards. Finding range with his virtuoso shooting ability, Steph led the charge from the get-go, despite suffering from a sore left foot in their previous encounter.

Going into halftime with a five-point advantage, the home side was quietly confident of burnishing their finals lead, but a classic third-quarter charge helped overturn the deficit. Curry dropped 4 of his 5 three-point attempts in the same quarter while nailing his only try in the fourth. Shimmying and shying away from the Boston guards, he would arc in baskets with the same ease with which one drops loose change through a torn pocket. With 10 rebounds and 4 assists to garnish his freakish points tally, the 34-year-old schooled the Celtics while keeping a lid on the vociferous Boston crowd!

The two-time MVP had the NBA verse salivating at his performance, with no less than LeBron James doffing his proverbial hat to the ‘Chef’. A clutch player to the core, Curry does things in his own inimitable style.

To put things into perspective, Curry has 52 points over the four third-quarters played so far and a total of 137 points across the four games. That’s almost double what the Warriors’ next-best Klay Thompson (69) has managed!
