Legendary cricketer Ross Taylor’s decade long international career will come to an end on Monday as the
veteran cricketer is playing his final match for New Zealand against the
Netherlands at the Seddon Park in Hamilton on Monday.

38-year-old
batter failed to control his emotions when players from both sides arrived at
the centre to pay tribute to him. Taylor was accompanied by his three children
– Mackenzie, Jonty, and Adelaide.
Following
the rituals, Martin Guptill was spotted consoling the veteran star cricketer.
Taylor’s wife Victoria Jayne Brown and his extended family were also present at
the venue.
The
cricketer also received a special guard of honour from the Netherlands players
when he walked out to bat after New Zealand opted to bat first. However, Taylor
failed to put up a big score in his final outing as he was caught and bowled on
14 (16) by Logan van Beek.

Taylor
has represented New Zealand in all three formats in which he amassed over
15,000 runs. In all Taylor played 450 matches for New Zealand.
Meanwhile,
both active and past cricketers from different eras came together to extend
their good wishes to Taylor on retirement. New Zealand Cricket shared a video
of the same on social media, which featured Rahul Dravid, Virat Kohli, and
Daniel Vettori among others.

In
January last year, Taylor announced that he will retire from international
cricket after the current domestic season. The second test against Bangladesh,
in which he likely will equal Daniel Vettori’s record of 112 tests for New
Zealand, was his last for New Zealand.
New
Zealand are currently hosting the Netherlands at the Seddon Park in Hamilton.
The third ODI of the series is Taylor’s last for the Black Caps. Taylor scored
14 in his final innings for New Zealand as he was dismissed by Logan van Beek.
