Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry won his second three-point contest on Sunday before the start of the 2021 NBA All-Star Game in Atlanta at the State Farm Arena.

Curry, who is the only returning champion in the contest, won the prize for the second time in his his seventh appearance, according to The Washington Post. He won the contest in 2015.

This year, Curry scored 31 points in the first round and 28 points in the final round to claim the victory. While Utah Jazz guard Mike Conley came very close with 27 points in the final round, Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum finished third with 17 points.

First round eliminations include Chicago Bulls guard Zach LaVine, Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell and Celtics forward Jaylen Brown. 

Although Curry missed the first four shots  in the final round, he was able to make both of his deep threes and closing strong to grab the victory.

Curry said, “[My mind] kind of went blank. Whatever crowd is in here, I could hear the temperature rise a little bit. It was an awesome competition. I’m glad I got it done.”
