With the beginning of the Premier League just around the corner, two London rivals — Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea — played out a 2-2 draw on Wednesday in a Mind Series clash.

The charity tournament, which is hoping to promote awareness around mental health, kicked off during the pre-season and is being played by the three London clubs, namely Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea.

Chelsea’s last summer recruit Hakim Ziyech scored a double while goals from Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn lead the Spurs fightback.

Manager Thomas Tuchel opted to include some of the more regular players in his lineup for the pre-season game. The likes of N’golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner and Kai Havertz, all start for the Blues.

Meanwhile, the new Spurs boss, Nuno Espirito Santo, too went for a mix of youth and experience. Heung Min Son yet again started out as the striker, a role that he is likely to settle in if talisman Harry Kane makes his way out of the club.

Ziyech opened the scoring for Chelsea in the 16-minute mark, when a sweetly struck a left-footed shot from outside the Tottenham box.

New signing Pierluigi Gollini could do very little to stop the ball from going into the back of the net.

Early in the second half, Ziyech was yet again on the mark as he latched on to a cutback from fullback Marcos Alonso and placed it past the Spurs shot-stopper. Although Chelsea were looking to run away with the lead, Lucas Moura halved the advantage when his deflected shot bounced over Chelsea keeper Eduoard Mendy’s head into the back of the net.

In the 70th minute, Steven Bergwijn, who hasn’t had the best of the start to his life in the Premier League, beat Mendy from a tight angle to complete a vicious Spurs counter-attack and square off all matters.
