Late in the second quarter, Suns wing Josh Okogie went diving into the stands for a loose ball near the sideline where Ishbia was seated. With the Suns having lost possession, Jokic rushed over to retrieve the ball from Ishbia and the man sitting next to him. However, Jokic was met with some resistance as he attempted to take the ball, causing it to go further back into the crowd.

It appears that the push-back Jokic received from Ishbia while trying to retrieve the ball may have annoyed him. He then extended his left elbow into the owner while calling for the ball with his other hand.

Ishbia, a former basketball player at Michigan State, fell back into his seat with his hands raised as if looking for a foul. Two security guards quickly rushed in front of Ishbia, and Jokic was unable to retrieve the ball. The incident resulted in Jokic being given a technical foul, which could have significant consequences for the Nuggets going forward.

While some have defended Jokic’s actions as a competitive instinct, others have criticized his behavior and condemned the use of physical contact against team owners. The NBA has yet to comment on the incident, but it is likely that the league will review the play and potentially issue further disciplinary action.
