Jayson Tatum is the young face of the Boston Celtics and has often helped the team with important and even game-winning performances. In Game 5 of the 2022 NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors, Tatum dominated the court.

Halfway through the third quarter of the game, Jayson Tatum had already added 22 points and 2 assists, more than anyone else present on the court. He faced resistance from Golden State Warriros’ Andrew Wiggins, who had 16 points by that time.

Who is Jayson Tatum?

Born in St. Louis, Missouri on March 3, 1998, Jayson Tatum’s career in professional basketball started off young. He went to Chaminade College Prep School, where he was part of the basketball team. He is currently 24 years old.

He reportedly averaged 29.6 points to go along with 9.1 rebounds during his senior year and also grabbed the Gatorade National Player of the Year Award in 2016.

Before being enlisted in the 2017 NBA Draft, Jayson Tatum played college basketball for the Duke Blue Devils. His skill continued to build through the years.

The 2018 NBA season served as Jayson Tatum’s launchpad. He managed to give some power-packed performances for this team as a rookie. The Boston Celtics even reached the Eastern Conference finals that year but narrowly lost to Cleveland Cavaliers. Tatum was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team.

Jayson Tatum largely used the two COVID-plagued seasons to improve his in-box statistics and improved his game significantly. His scoring went up to 26.4 from 23.4 points a game, finishing as the 11th highest scorer, media reports suggest.

Jayson Tatum’s career in basketball goes beyond the NBA and extends to the international level. He was selected for the United States Olympic squad for the Tokyo Olympics, where the team secured the traditional gold medal in men’s basketball.
