Welsh wrestling legend Adrian Street passed away on July 24 at the Grange University Hospital in Cwmbran, according to his family. He was 82 years old at the time of his death. On Sunday night, Adrian’s wife, who is also known by her stage name Miss Linda, referred to the real man behind the ringside character as “the kindest, most loving man you could ever meet.”

Who is Miss Linda?

Miss Linda was the wife and former wrestling manager of wrestler Adrian Street. Her real name is Linda Gunthorpe Hawker. She herself was a former wrestler who first met Street in 1969.

Adrian Street and Miss Linda later started performing as a double act in America. One of the first female valets in professional wrestling, Miss Linda routinely assisted Street in his antics in the ring.

In 1981, Street and Linda had their North American debut. They made appearances in a number of North American regions before settling in 1985 at Birmingham, Alabama in Ron Fuller’s Continental Championship Wrestling (CCW).

Street operated the Skull Krushers Wrestling School in Gulf Breeze, Florida, after quitting his full-time job in the ring, until Hurricane Ivan’s terrible devastation caused him to shut the doors. Along with designing and marketing merchandise for professional wrestling, Street and Linda also started a website business.

At a Cauliflower Alley Club reunion in 2005, Street proposed to his longtime manager Miss Linda. At their wedding, Don Leo Jonathan served as his best man.

Street and his wife Linda left Florida in 2018 and moved back to Wales, blaming the weather there and Hurricane Ivan’s devastation of Street’s wrestling school. Last year, Street and his wife attended WWE’s Class at the Castle event in Cardiff, Wales.
