Union Home Minister Amit Shah paying a tribute to
Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans killed in the 2019 Pulwama terror
attack on Monday said that the defence corridor project in Uttar Pradesh’s
Jhansi will help India “teach a lesson to Pakistan”.

“PM Narendra Modi has laid the foundation stone
for the defence corridor project in Jhansi. The defence equipment built here
will help us teach Pakistan a lesson,” said Shah, while addressing a public
rally in Mauranipur.

“Heartfelt tribute to the brave jawans of
@crpfindia who upheld the sovereignty of the country by making their supreme
sacrifice in the cowardly terrorist attack of Pulwama. The nation will always
be indebted to your sacrifice. Your bravery will continue to inspire us to root
out terrorism,” Mr Shah tweeted from its official account in Hindi.

Taking a dig at the Congress, Shah termed the party
“parivaarwadi” and said political parties run by dynasties cannot do any good
to the state and the country.

“Parivaarwadi’ parties can’t do good for the
State and the country. Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and now Rahul
Gandhi…can Congress work for the welfare of the public of Uttar Pradesh?,”
asked Shah.

The BJP leader also slammed Samajwadi Party for promoting
political dynasty. “Mulayam Singh Yadav went to Uttar Pradesh, and since
he couldn’t find any successor he made his son succeed him,” he added.

Attacking Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, Shah
said he captured the land of the poor through goons and mafia in his five years
tenure.

Meanwhile, hailing Yogi Adityanath’s state government,
Shah said that the Chief Minister vacated public land worth Rs 2,000 crore,
which had previously been encroached. “Akhilesh ji made 45 people of his
family occupy different posts. Modi ji took 45 schemes to your doorstep,”
he added.

On Monday, in the second phase of the seven-phase
Uttar Pradesh elections, 55 assembly constituencies underwent polling, covering
nine districts of Saharanpur, Bijnor, Amroha, Sambhal, Moradabad, Rampur,
Bareilly, Budaun and Shahjahanpur.

The counting of the votes will take place on March 10.
