Nusrat Jahan, Bengali-actor-turned TMC MP, who was admitted to Neotia Hospital in Kolkata on August 25, gave birth to a baby boy on Thursday.

According to the report, on August 25, the MP visited a hospital in Kolkata’s Park Street area for a check-up. She has now been admitted to the hospital by Bengali actor Yash Dasgupta.

Her colleague and actor Mimi Chakraborty took to Twitter to congratulate Nusrat.

Jahan’s estranged husband Nikhil Jain said, “There might be differences between us, but I am wishing the newborn and his mother all the best. I wish the baby boy has a bright future.”

Nusrat, who married businessman Nikhil Jain in a destination wedding in Bodrum, Turkey, in 2019. She claimed that her marriage to Jain was invalid under the Indian law a few months ago.

She released a statement about how they don’t live together anymore. Nusrat had alleged that her belongings, including family jewellery and other assets, were “illegally held back” by Nikhil’s family and also added that her “funds were mishandled” from various accounts without her knowledge.

The actor revealed that she had been living separately from Nikhil since November 2020.

In June, she confirmed the news of her pregnancy with stunning photos on Instagram.

Sharing three photos where she can be seen cradling her baby bump, Nusrat captioned the images as, “Kindness changes everything”. In the photos, the actress is dressed in a white top and blue jeans with no make-up. A printed scarf hides the bump well.

Meanwhile, Jain has refuted the allegations and said she had avoided always his requests to get the marriage registered.

He had claimed that Jahan’s behaviour started changing towards him since August 2020 when she was shooting a film, and she left his home bag and baggage in November.

Jain said though he had initially wanted to talk about the issue only in court and not in public, he was “dismayed with recent allegations against me and my family, regarding my married life and it has become imperative” for him to disclose some facts.
