Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors guard, on October 25, 2021, became the first player in franchise history to record 5,000 career assists. He reached the milestone with his fifth assist to Damion Lee in an NBA match against Sacramento Kings in Golden 1 Center Sacramento, California.

Earlier in the year on March 15, Curry dished out his 4,856th career assist in the third quarter of an NBA game against the Los Angeles Lakers to pass Guy Rodgers (4,855) and become the franchise’s all-time assists leader.

He achieved that feat a day after he celebrated his 33rd birthday. He had entered the game against the Lakers with averages of 29.3 points (fourth in the NBA), 6.3 assists, 5.4 rebounds and 1.32 steals in 34.0 minutes over 37 games.

Curry, a two-time MVP, dished out his first career assist on his NBA debut on October 28, 2009, against Houston. The recipient was Stephen Jackson.
