As the United States authorities struggle to find a solid solution to the proper procedure for the integration of migrants, President Joe Biden said he might soon visit the US-Mexico border “at some point”.

Soon after taking over the White House from former US President Donald Trump, Biden reversed many policies put in place during his predecessor’s term, including the border control policy, reported Reuters.

Due to the welcoming gesture made by Biden, the migrant influx from the southern border has increased significantly, unveiling a humanitarian crisis of providing refuge and shelter to those fleeing hardships in their home countries.

Even though no detailed deadline was given by the US President, he did point towards active involvement of the authorities in solving the crisis, which challenges the administration’s immigration policies. The statement was recorded as Biden returned from Camp David to the White House on Sunday.

When questioned about what the authorities can do about the crisis, he said in a carefully worded response, “A lot more, we are in the process of doing it now, including making sure we re-establish what existed before – which is they can stay in place and make their case from their home countries”, reported Reuters.

The relevant US authorities have also rolled out messages for those wishing to make the journey to the US, to convince potential migrants against it.
